A Holiday PSA

Dog DessertForget those Christmas cookies.
Toss out the cheesecakes and other desserts.
This is the best Christmas cake in the world:

VIRGINIA WHISKEY CAKE

1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon mace
1 cup butter
1 cup 100 proof Bourbon whiskey
3 cups sifted cake flour
2 cups chopped pecan meats
3 well-beaten eggs

Combine sugars and cream with butter. Add 3 well-beaten eggs.
Sift flour and mace. Add alternately with whiskey. Add
nuts. Bake in well-greased or paper-lined tube pan. Bake at
250°F (120°C) for 2-1/2 to 3 hours. This cake should have moist, crumbly
texture similar to a macaroon. Wrap in aluminum foil and
store in a cool place. Do Not Freeze. The cake cuts easier when
cold, but should be served at room temperature. It will keep for
two weeks or longer. Slice 1/2 inch thick (save those crumbs for
sundae topping.)
Serve with whiskey sauce of 1/2 cup light corn syrup, 1 tablespoon
rum, 2 tablespoons whiskey (poured over cake a half hour before
serving). Whipped cream topping is optional.

You can skip the sauce and whipped cream stuff too, but the original recipe had that stuff listed, so I include it also.

This has been a Public Service Announcement of Clumber Broadcasting Corporation. We will now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

I thought…

Joker
a standard deck of playing cards had but 2 jokers…. I guess I was wrong….

Light Blogging

Clumber has many holiday activities planned, but mostly he is attempting to recover from a Christmas party. Oh, not the party, per se, but rather a statement heard while gathered around the piano player. Seems the piano player knew but one Beatles song for everyone to sing to (Thanks Be To God). Then someone started their 60’s nostalgia trip and someone else gave their opinion that the Beatles were like Chopin in the impact they made. Oh oh, here comes that queazy stomach feeling again… anyway, blessings to all, enjoy the gift (you know, the Big One, not those little things under the tree…).

Ooops… grandpups call, I must go

Keep the ship afloat while I’m gone, you dogs and dog-ettes. Remember, if it’s dressed in purple, it probably needs to be poked with a stick. Share your squeaky toys and your biscuits, and give generously to the MP City of God appeal! A big woof out to you all!

You take the high road and I’ll take the low road

Well, MP used “sit” and “split”, so I really had little choice, now did I?

Hello eBay!

Well, it’s not like Mary or Jesus, but this is what I saw on my breakfast plate today!

Train Fell Off the Track

Just shows you the value of a train engineer who knows how to run things properly. Hopefully, they’ll be taking applications for a new Bishop soon.

I honestly tried to listen to the webcast, but the anguished sounds and wailing were just too much for this dog’s sensitive ears!

“Oh, we’ve no place in TEC! Alas!”

Sorry if this sounds hard hearted, but “buh bye”.

And to be accurate, I should find a picture of a train on the tracks and almost all of the people on the side of the train. They’ve jumped ship. I say swim on lads, best of luck to you.

Buh bye…
