Portrait of the MP as a Young Man

Honest, Mimi told me to post this - I’m still on grandpup duty and don’t have time to make this stuff up right now!

A wee laddie in training for pastoral assignments later in life…

This is a very rare photo found in an antique store in Newcastle, according to Mimi.

    Living dangerously!

  2. 2 clumber 27 July 2007 at 9:36 am

Isn’t that the secret to a life with Christ, to live dangerously and to be willing to risk it all?

The suspense is getting to me, to see which one will get to this first!

Oh I know what you all are thinking, this is one stupid dog… and maybe you’re right! But I’m gonna go out with a woof and a laugh!

Snickers - Ayup. I could see the MadOne doing just that.

No wonder he won’t post a foto over at his place..he’s probably a wanted finger upper….

Clumber, you’ve outdone yourself (and Eileen, you’re right behind him). I’d like to add something clever about early Christian “formation” (one of my least favorite churchspeak words), but I’m pretty limited in the clever department.

Hope your pup-sitting duties won’t keep you from joining the party in November. Maybe we should solicit funds to send you there to live-blog and live-photo the proceedings. Of course, that’s assuming that MP won’t send you to the doghouse for a VERY long time for this. Just put those grand-pups in his face and he’ll have to back down.

November? Count me in! I adore a good love in!

Clumber, this is wicked, wicked. And I thought you were a good old dog. Ah, well, another illusion shattered.

It’s not the picture, which is no doubt very real, but the laying of blame on an upstanding Christian lady that cuts to the quick.

No kidding. That is the gesture I get into most trouble off Mrs MP for using when we’re in the car together. True.

  8. 8 clumber 27 July 2007 at 7:40 pm

Wow, so it isn’t rare at all! But it is you, right?

And him a priest. And with his collar on, I’ll bet. Disgracing us all.

I can see from the photo that MP is brother to Bitch Ph.D. as she appears in the header on her blog.

    Small world!

What is going on in November?

  12. 12 Saint Pat 28 July 2007 at 3:16 pm

It is indeed the Mad One. Can’t you see the look in his eye?

Yeah, what’s going on in November?

Maddy, if I ask very VERY nicely, in all & total humility, would you deign to autograph the pic for me?? I would be eternally in your debt (well, eternally till at least Tuesday, at any rate)!

    Bill, aka top2

Dennis asked What is going on in November?

If it’s November, it must be the old “Liverpool Love-in”, where we endeavor to find the sacred in a Holiday Inn ballroom there. Kum Bah Yah Krumbcakes for everyone! Can’t you just feel the love?

AKA Central New York Convention. It’ll be a giant old fashioned party, and don’t you just know that clumber loves anyplace with Liver in its name!

  15. 15 klady 30 July 2007 at 8:44 pm

Having spent the weekend getting scorched on the soccer fields of Liverpool High School, the Holiday Inn doesn’t sound so bad right now. However, I must admit that I’ve never been to Convention — at least not for business (stopped by briefly for breakfast one morning but had to leave — to go home and do laundry or something - I forget). Kum Bah Yah Krumbcakes? Oh dear. Never heard about those.

Dennis, this would be simply a backwater affair except CNY has recently caught the attention of the SF crowd (not hard since Rev. and Mrs. Rev. Kennedy are both resident here) following the conclusion of the Bollinger trial. Hard to say what, if anything, will happen in November, but…. they’ll be hardpressed to make it a love-in this time. We don’t need these kinds of troubles now (no doubt you’ve got a blues video for that).

Don’t suppose we could hold the MP love-in you talked about awhile back, kind of as a diversion? Gotta be cheap fares to central New York. Maybe the Anglican Pub would reopen just to serve the mad ones.

  16. 16 clumber 30 July 2007 at 8:53 pm

Never been to the most funnest event in CNY? klady, I’m shocked! Shocked I tell you! I will admit that I feel like a hound at a cat show there, but as you say, there are some mad ones present.

The Kennedys do not attend, and Tony (another one of the screaming meemies, I think they moved to Africa recently) told us last year that he will not be there. The question is, will feet be held to the fire, and will the right questions be asked? Will kibble be served with bits? Will the dog bowls be filled with liver scraps or prime rib scraps?

oh oh, gotta go chase the cat… woof, woof!

    Barking Herald here.

So don’t the Americans have an election in November?

  18. 18 clumber 2 August 2007 at 11:09 pm

Election? It pales in comparison with the DCNY shindig! Now that’s entertainment!
