Oh, and one last thing…

bush-dog.jpg

And they call it puppy love…

rowan-clumber.jpgNow, you can start all the rumors you like about our dear Rowan calling me on the carpet to chastise me for my posts, it isn’t true.

Nor have I been taken hostage by the “Slither Further into Fanaticism” crowd.

It’s just that with Mimi’s imminent return, I feel that it’s safe to leave for another trip to visit a grandpuppy tomorrow… so enjoy the silence in the EpiscoKennelâ„¢. Remember, make sure your shots are up to date, play nice with each other and share your squeaky toys. Oh, and be sure to listen for the Master’s voice.

A Test of Episco-blogger Solidarity

Jared, over at Scribere Orare Est has hit a rough patch in seminary, I’m afraid. Some mean old guy has stolen his fave coffee mug. I know what you’re thinking… but hold on a minute… this is an opportunity for outreach to a poor seminarian to show him that the blog world feels his pain! Come on, be creative with the mugs folks! He’s desperate for a cup of coffee! Does that nice crowd over at Slither Further into Fanaticism have a merchandise section?

Improbable Georgetown email

Being a dog has it’s benefits. For instance, we have friends in low places, including the Georgetown IT department. This email was “obtained” by a good friend there, and I have it on his excellent authority that it is genuine:

Dear Robert,

I’ve been told that there is a “website” (I believe that’s what it’s called) where I will endeavour to write my “blog”. The address is http://www.correntewire.com/. Oh and there are many people posting there, so I have chosen the pen name (perhaps pen name is not the appropriate title if one uses a keyboard - chuckle) of “lambert”, which seemed an appropriate shortening of your nickname for me of “Lambeth Bertie”.

Don’t worry about the MP problem, I do believe we can find a place on my staff or in communications for him.

Oh, and I anticipate that I shall be back at Canterbury in time for Evensong on the 28th.

Blessings be upon you,
“Lambert”

A Clumber Parable

The Soldier Who Wouldn’t Quit

Onoda and his men lived in the jungle for years, occasionally engaging in skirmishes and carrying out acts of sabotage as part of their guerrilla activities. They were tormented by jungle heat, incessant rain, rats, insects, and the occasional armed search party. Any villagers they sighted were seen as spies, and attacked by the four men, and over the years a number of people were wounded or killed by the rogue soldiers.

-and-

By the time he formally surrendered to Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos in 1974, Onoda had spent twenty nine of his fifty two years hiding the jungle, fighting a war that had long been over for the rest of the world. He and his guerrilla soldiers had killed some thirty people unnecessarily, and wounded about a hundred others. But they had done so under the belief that they were at war.

Let’s make a movie from this story… who shall we cast as the star?
The casting call starts now!

Unrepentant Little Buggers

I found a couple of them…. quick, get some stones before they climb away!

A statement in reply to the Head of the Family Firm (Sydney)

I’m not too certain what is that I have done wrong
but what the heck…

I’M PROUD TO BE UNREPENTANT

… and I invite you all to join me in linking our unrepentances together to make one gigantic and gorgeous, unrepentant
up-yours to episcopal bigots throughout the world.

SAY IT LOUD…

Thanks, MadPriest!

Diocese of Los Angeles wins appeal

So much money has been and is going to be pissed away, and as someone over at Jake’s Joint said, another sad day in the life of the body of Christ.
These tears are not good for an old dog.

Improbable Scenes from Georgetown

I wonder what Mimi’s up to right now….

Anyone want to venture a guess?
