You old dog, you made me cry.
How did the numbers go that high?
We should be shouting in the streets,
Instead we’re sitting in our seats
Writing words that have no meaning,
Singing songs of long ago.
Mimi, your poetic lines are as beautiful as that song.
Perhaps the most meaningful thing we can do is write poems and sing songs. Our psalms and hymns have kept their meaning for a reason.
Thank you, David. I wrote the first two lines and saw that they looked poetic - they even rhymed! - which is rare for me. And then the rest came rather easily.
Clumber, you posted the song without comment. Perhaps you did not want comments to this post, but knowing your readers, you should have shut them down, if that was the case.
No it was that I had no comment to this craziness that we as a people have sanctioned for so long… I expected someone to note that I had the year wrong, but I guess everybody understood that years to an old dog don’t mean much. And while it’s a song of long ago, its as true today. What if every blog we know could just put up a “Stop the War” plug? Support the troops, bring them home…
I marched with the Women in Black this morning. Last year there were hecklers including a teacher who harangued the silent marchers for blocks and now has a restraining order against him. This year we were met with cheers a number of times. Perhaps people are finally getting the message.

Clumber, I’m willing. Can you make us one, oh, dog of great skills, one that would be easy to place on a blog, one that would work for techie dummies?

So far as I know, around here, mine would have to be a march of one.
