Just busy doing some chores around the house this morning, and I was thinking back to when Mrs. Clumber and I were wed… I was wondering if, when asked
Ms. Clumber, will you have this man to be your husband; to live together in the covenant of marriage? Will you love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others, be faithful to him as long as you both shall live?
If she had answered “Let me put it as clearly as I can, it is my intention”….
if that might not have caused me to wonder how committed she was to the marriage….
Better she should answer, “I will, with God’s help”.
